WHEELING -- Steptoe & Johnson is pleased to announce that Matthew W. Hutnick has joined the firm as an associate practicing with the Energy group.
Resident in Steptoe & Johnson's Wheeling office, Hutnick concentrates in the area of energy and real estate law, with an emphasis in oil and gas title work.
Hutnick has performed mineral title examinations to assist energy clients with development of assets in the Marcellus shale, as well as conventional oil and gas, and coalbed methane projects. Hutnick also has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, closely held business disputes, ERISA, long-term disability, premises liability, and zoning and land use.
Upon graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (J.D., 2006), Hutnick served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Anne McDonnell, Superior Court of New Jersey. While in law school, he served as a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, in Philadelphia, PA, where he assisted with cases involving OSHA, MSHA, ERISA and FLSA.
