Wilkinson
CHARLESTON — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that John C. "Max" Wilkinson joined the Charleston office as Counsel.
His primary area of practice is environmental law.
Wilkinson previously worked as in-house counsel at an Appalachian coal company, where he gained experience in a wide variety of corporate legal services. He also has extensive experience in litigation with an emphasis in coal-related environmental litigation, general litigation and regulatory/ administrative practice.
He has been an Infantry/ Engineer Officer in the Army National Guard for more than two decades. He received the West Virginia Bar Association Citizen-Soldier Award in 2011. He has also received multiple military honors, including the Combat Action Badge, Bronze Star Medal, U.S. Army Commendation Medal, U.S. Army Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal and NATO-ISAF Service Medal, among others.
Wilkinson is admitted to practice in West Virginia and Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of South Dakota and a Juris Doctorate, with distinction, from University of Iowa College of Law.
