BRIDGEPORT – Steptoe & Johnson is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Z. Adkins III as the firm's Chief Information Officer.
Adkins will be based in the firm's Bridgeport office.
Adkins is a pioneer in the field of legal technology. His career spans more than two decades as a consultant, author and executive. He was one of the first consultants in the country devoted solely to legal technology, helping law firms and governmental offices automate numerous processes.
In 1997, Adkins established the Legal Technology Institute at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He served as its Director and primary consultant until 2010 when he was named President. Adkins is a past chair of the American Bar Association TECHSHOW Planning Committee and past co-chair of the LegalTech Conferences.
His career includes authorship of definitive legal technology publications including, "The Lawyer's Guide to Practice Management Systems Software," and "Computerized Case Management Systems" both published by the ABA. Adkins is also U.S. Navy veteran.

As CIO, Adkins will lead the firm's IT team to implement strategic technology goals at Steptoe & Johnson with a focus on the delivery of services essential to client success.
