Brumley

CHARLESTON -- Christina T. Brumley has rejoined Jackson Kelly after four years in-house at International Coal Group Inc.

Prior to ICG, Brumley was a Member of Jackson Kelly, first joining the firm in 1998. At ICG, Brumley served as Deputy General Counsel where her coal industry experience included advising the corporation and its subsidiaries on property rights, acquisitions and property swaps, mineral leases and deeds, easements and right of way agreements, coal sales agreements, equipment and fuel supply agreements, contract mining agreements, equipment sales including domestic sales and exports and independent contractor agreements.

Her experience also includes commercial litigation, including contract and property rights disputes, business torts and shareholder litigation. She has also advised clients on communications law, representing broadcasters in matters before the FCC and advising them in defamation and advertising law.

Brumley received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics in 1993. She received her Juris Doctor from West Virginia University's College of Law in 1998, where she was an issues editor of the West Virginia Law Review.

Brumley is the third in a recent series of Jackson Kelly announcements about coal leaders returning. At the beginning of September, M. Shane Harvey, a former Massey/Alpha General Counsel returned to the firm and one month prior to that, Roger Nicholson, former International Coal Group General Counsel, came back to his private practice.

Jackson Kelly has been ranked by Law360 as one of the top two law firms in the United States for largest percentage of attorneys practicing in the energy industry among firms with 100 or more lawyers and as one of 2010 Best Law Firms by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers, specifically for its mining practice. Jackson Kelly was one of only six firms ranked in the first-tier nationwide, and the only West Virginia-based firm to achieve that distinction.

Jackson Kelly is a national law firm representing global corporations, national companies, entrepreneurs and individuals in areas of law such as environmental, business, labor and employment, federal and state workers' compensation, civil litigation and occupational safety and health. The firm has offices in Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
