WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -— The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that Stephanie U. Roberts, Counsel at the firm, was honored by Business Leader magazine at the 2011 Women Extraordinaire of the Triad luncheon.
This annual honor is bestowed upon top women business leaders in the Triad. A nominee must be an influential leader within her company, with an extraordinary effect on its success and forward-thinking strategies. She must be actively involved in professional organizations and associations, as well as active in her community to promote philanthropic organizations or causes. She must also be a recognized mentor and example to other women in her industry.
Roberts works primarily as a litigator, with an emphasis on construction, product liability, industrial accident and toxic tort litigation. She was recognized for her leadership in the law, as well as her service through bar associations and the Defense Research Institute (DRI).
A member of the North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida Bars, Roberts has been especially active with the North Carolina Bar Association, where she has focused many of her volunteer efforts. Some highlights of her volunteer work include serving as former Committee Chair for the Statewide Mentoring Project and as member of the Foundation Development Committee.
She is also former Greensboro 4All Site Co-Chair for the 4All Statewide Service Day, a campaign to make legal services available to all North Carolinians, focusing on those at or below the poverty level. Roberts frequently mentors female lawyers and law school students.
