CHARLESTON -- The law firm of Bailey and Glasser, known for its work on complex litigation and transactions nationwide, has announced seven new members to the firm's partnership.

Jonathan Boggs practices in the health care, energy and litigation groups. Early in his career, Jon combined securities litigation with business and regulatory matters for prominent national law firms in Boston and in Washington, DC. He returned home to West Virginia to serve as West Virginia's Commissioner of State Health Facilities from 1997 to 2000. Jon received his BA, summa cum laude, from Wheaton College, his MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, concurrent with his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. James L. Buckley, U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

Shaohui Jiang's practice focuses on finance and corporate transactions and the firm's China practice. He started his legal career at one of the largest law firms in the United States in New York and has represented investment and commercial banks, energy companies and high-tech firms. Shaohui advises clients in complex financing and merger and acquisition deals, often involving cross-border transactions. He has an MS from Cornell University, and received a JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law.

Rodney Smith is a litigator with considerable experience in both civil and criminal cases. He represents clients in cases involving complex business transactions, product liabilities, employment matters and a variety of criminal defense cases. Rod is particularly known for his expertise in federal civil and criminal procedures as well as the federal appellate process. He received his BA from West Virginia University and a JD from West Virginia University College of Law. He served as law clerk to Chief Judge Joseph R. Goodwin, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.

Michael Murphy is a litigator with a focus on consumer class actions and complex business transactions. Michael has substantial experience for plaintiffs and defendants in class action cases in different jurisdictions before both federal and state courts at the trial and appellate level. He received his BS degree from California State University – Fresno, his MS in Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a JD, cum laude, from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Mike also served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Paul L. Friedman, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

John Roddy is an experienced litigator whose practice is devoted to representing consumers in class actions challenging unfair lending practices, and violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes, as well as acting as counsel to relators in qui tam "whistleblower" actions. John served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Massachusetts' Attorney General's Office Consumer Protection Division, and is the co-chair of the Practising Law Institute's Annual Institute on Consumer Financial Services Litigation. He received his BA, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts and his JD, cum laude, from Boston College Law School.

Elizabeth Ryan is also a litigator with a concentration on consumer class actions challenging unfair business practices and qui tam "whistleblower" actions. Elizabeth was a fellow at the National Consumer Law Center and co-author of the Consumer Credit Manual published by the Consumer Law Center. Elizabeth received her BA for the College of the Holy Cross and a JD from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.

Elizabeth Hoskins Dow has a diverse practice, focusing on energy and environmental law, real estate and general litigation. She began her career as a litigation associate in a major Chicago law firm, and has also worked at a smaller firm and as a legal aid lawyer. She has taught law in the Chicago area and serves by appointment of the Illinois Supreme Court on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois. Lissa received her BA degree from Yale, magna cum laude, and her JD from Boston College Law School cum laude.
