* Bain Edmondson traveled from Rhode Island to West Virginia on Jan. 30 with a friend and co-worker, William Moran. Bain Edmondson claims the following day a carbon monoxide leak at the Holiday Inn Express caused the death of Moran and Bain Edmondson was severely injured. The couple is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

* On April 9, 2011, a Saint Bernard dog was being returned to the defendant due to aggressive behavior and an employee of the defendant walked out to the parking lot to obtain control of the Saint Bernard's leash. While the dog was in the care of the employee, Harper approached to pet the dog, which then viciously attacked her. Harper is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.
