HUNTINGTON -- Huddleston Bolen announced the details of two webinars for business the firm will host on May 24 and May 30.

On May 24, the firm will host a webinar titled "Nuts and Bolts Settlements in Employment Cases."

On May 30, the firm will host a webinar titled "Supply Chain Risks and the Foreign Supplier."

Nuts and Bolts of Settlements in Employment Cases

All surveys in the last 10 years agree that 95 to 98 percent of civil cases settle before trial. In employment cases, planning for early settlement is crucial. Settlement in employment cases involves unusual terms: expungement of employee records - neutral references - taxability of settlements - compliance with complex statutes and the ever popular mutual non-disparagement provisions.

This presentation will educate employers and their counsel on how settlements in employment cases can be structured and how agreements must be structured to best protect the employer/defendant's interest. Executives, Risk Managers, Human Resource professionals and other managers responsible for developing and executing settlement proposals will benefit from this presentation.

Supply Chain Risks and the Foreign Supplier

This session focuses on the risks and challenges imposed by the growing use of foreign suppliers as impacted by the recent Supreme Court decision on jurisdiction over foreign companies. The Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations, S.A. v. Brown case has brought to the forefront the risks inherent in the foreign components of the supply chain. This one-hour program will look at the foreign supply chain and the current issues in the courts and in the media.

Examined will be the impact of the Goodyear decision, the Food Safety Modernization Act and the foreign supply chain, the unique issues in the consumer products area and how to protect your company from those risks now and in the future. Presenters include Michael J. Chmielewski, Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager, Ace Hardware and Darren L. Mulford, Director of Casualty Claims, Tyson Foods, Inc.
