PITTSBURGH -- The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle recently announced that two attorneys in its Pittsburgh office were recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.
The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and consumers in the search for legal counsel. Polling, research and selection are performed by Law & Politics, a publication of Key Professional Media, Inc. The research methodology includes a statewide nomination process, peer review by practice area and independent research.
James H. Joseph was named to the 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list for his work in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights. He also recently received an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Joseph is a member of the firm and advises clients in a variety of corporate transactions, with extensive experience in distressed mergers and acquisitions, commercial bankruptcy, and creditors' rights. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Delaware and is a standing mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware.
Kevin M. Eddy, an associate with the firm, was named to the 2012 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in the area of Energy & Natural Resources. He also represents companies in the consumer finance and construction industries. In addition, Eddy is treasurer for the Young Lawyers Division of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York and Florida (inactive).
