James G. Bordas Jr., Scott S. Blass and Christopher J. Regan have all been inducted in the 2012 edition of Super Lawyers. Less than 5 percent of the lawyers throughout the state are selected by this professional organization.
Based in Wheeling with an additional office in St. Clairsville, Ohio, the firm of 13 attorneys and 20 legal professionals is one of the largest plaintiff's litigation firms in the state. James G. Bordas Jr. has been a trial lawyer for more than 40 years. A graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, he has obtained verdicts and settlements in cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, chemical exposure, lender liability, bad faith insurance, nursing home negligence and trucking accidents. He not only was recognized as a Super Lawyer for the past six years, but was also awarded the distinction of Best Lawyer of the Year 2012 for Personal Injury Litigation. He has also been named by the West Virginia Association for Justice as its Member of the Year. Jim has also been chosen as a co-chairman of Legal Aid of West Virginia's annual fundraising campaign to raise money to promote legal services to citizens who cannot afford them.
Scott S. Blass is currently President of the West Virginia Association for Justice where he has served as an officer and executive committee member. He was also named Member of the Year by WVAJ. Since joining Bordas and Bordas in 1992, Scott has obtained seven figure verdicts on behalf of his clients in diverse areas of the law including product liability, auto accidents, insurance bad faith and medical malpractice. Blass has 25 years of extensive experience in insurance law and is a frequent lecturer on complex insurance law issues.
Christopher J. Regan focuses on complex litigation, trial work and appeals. A Notre Dame Law School graduate, Chris has obtained numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts in cases of insurance bad faith, trucking wrecks, negligence, wrongful death, workplace injuries, explosions, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse. He also serves on the Board of Ohio Trial, a scholarly publication of the Ohio Association for Justice and on the Executive Committee of the West Virginia Association for Justice, as well as the WVAJ amicus committee.
