CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing Kanawha Terrance Mobile Home Park after she sustained injuries when she fell.

Ulysses Grant Young is doing business as Kanawha Terrance Mobile Home Park.

On June 11, 2010, Ilene Lou Kidd was walking from her home to her mobile home community's local mail drop to obtain her daily mail, according to a complaint filed June 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Kidd claims when she stepped into the local mail drop area, she slipped on accumulated gravel and fell.

As a reuslt of the fall, Kidd was rushed to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a broken ankle, which was placed in a cast for mending, according to the suit.

Kidd claims later, an infection in the area of the cast began to spread, which required surgical intervention and, as a result of the injuries, her leg was amputated just below the knee.

The defendant had a duty to maintain the local mail drop area and failed to do so, according to the suit.

Terry Means is suing on behalf of Kidd. Means is seeking compensatory damages. The plaintiff is being represented by Travis A. Griffith.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib Jr.
