Woman sues TRG Customer Solutions for alleged wrongful termination, discrimination

CHARLESTON - A Charleston woman is suing TRG Customer Solutions after she claims she was discriminated against based on her gender and was wrongfully terminated from her employment.

Jason Ritchey was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Katherine Evans was employed by the defendants from Nov. 17, 2008, until Oct. 21, 2011, according to a complaint filed Oct. 17 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Evans claims in 2011, she and some of her female co-workers became the victim of unfair treatment due to their gender. She says she filed a formal internal complaint of discrimination and harassment in a report dated June 30, 2011.

Ritchey was alleged as participating in the discriminatory conduct, according to the suit.

Evans claims on Oct. 21, 2011, her employment was illegally terminated because she had previously filed an internal complaint of sexual discrimination and participating in the internal complaint process.

The defendants' actions caused Evans to suffer damages, including loss of earnings and benefits; loss of reputation; humiliation, embarrassment and loss of self-esteem; and loss of advancements and retirement investments and lost wages, according to the suit.

Evans is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Dwight J. Staples of Henderson, Henderson & Staples LC.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
