WHEELING - A man filed a class action lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson after he claims it violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.
Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc. was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Stephen A. Morris was employed by the defendants from 1979 until April 17, according to a complaint filed in Ohio Circuit Court.
Morris claims the defendants failed to pay his final wages until May 21.
The defendants failed to pay their discharged employees all wages due within the time periods mandated by the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, according to the suit.
Morris claims the defendants were required to pay final wages within four days and failed to do so.
The defendants also failed to pay other similarly-situated class members their employment wages in full within time periods mandated by the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, according to the suit.
Morris is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess of Bailess Law. The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Ronald Wilson.
