BECKLEY – A Raleigh County couple is suing over allegedly incomplete and dangerous renovation work on their house.

Michael Wickline and Leah Wickline filed the suit Aug. 19 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Pro Builders, Gregory Bennett and Chuck Maxwell.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs hired the defendants to perform the work in 2013. After the defendants were done, the plaintiffs noticed multiple defects. They hired a professional engineer licensed in West Virginia to conduct an inspection. The inspector found many instances of poor workmanship, the suit claims, totaling the remediation amount required at $72,000.

The plaintiffs are suing in an amount that will make them whole plus additional costs, attorney's fees, and an amount for aggravation, annoyance and inconvenience. They also seek a jury trial.

Counsel for the plaintiffs is A. David Abrams Jr. of Abrams & Byron in Beckley.

Raleigh District Court case number 15-C-773B.
