POINT PLEASANT, W.V. -- The estate of a woman who died from injuries suffered after falling in the shower has sued a Mason County nursing home alleging negligence. 

Robert Edmunds, representing the estate of Pauline Miller, filed suit against Pleasant Valley Nursing home in the Circuit Court of Mason, West Virginia on Oct. 5. The suit alleges that the nursing home failed to provide adequate supervision of Miller while she was in the shower despite knowing that she had balance issues and exhibited resistive behaviors such as hitting and kicking while in the shower. Edmunds alleges in the suit that Miller died from major head injuries suffered after falling or being dropped in the shower on March 14, 2014.  

The plaintiff is seeking damages for pain and suffering, plus medical and funeral expenses as well as attorney fees. Tammy Bowles Raines of the Tammy Bowles Raines Law Office, PLLC in  Charleston, West Virginia is representing the plaintiff. Judge Thomas C. Evans III is presiding.
