CHARLESTON – A Charleston woman is suing the city claiming their negligence led to her injuries after tripping into a pothole.
Mona Taylor filed a lawsuit Sept. 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court against the city of Charleston claiming she was inured while walking along public grounds and the city is at fault for her injuries.
Taylor claims that on March 18 while walking to her car she tripped in a pothole outside of the Charleston Municipal Auditorium causing her severe and permanent injury. Taylor claims it is the city's responsibility to properly upkeep the city grounds and it was they city's negligence that led to her injuries.
Taylor is seeking special and general damages for negligence, pre-judgment interest, court costs and attorney's fees, and any such other relief the court sees fit, Taylor is represented by Kevin P. Davis of Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman
