Carcrash2

NEW CUMBERLAND – A Hancock County man claims a Weirton car accident left him seriously injured and is suing the companies who employed negligent driver that struck him.

Anthony Vagnozzi filed a lawsuit on Oct. 26 in Hancock Circuit Court against Monongahela Power Co., Key Equipment Finance Inc. and Rex A Baker, claiming he was severely injured in an accident caused by their negligence.

Vagnozzi claims that on Dec. 2, 2013, while riding as a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Potomoc Avenue in Weirton, the vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Baker and owned by the companies. Vangozzi claims he suffered serious injuries which required medical attention, incurred $10,481.25 in medical expenses, caused loss of enjoyment of life and daily living, mental stress and anguish, as well as diminished income and earning capacity.

Vangozzi is seeking full compensation for damages, pre- and post-judgment interest on all compensatory damages, as well as attorneys' fees, costs, and any other relief the court sees fit. Vangozzi is represented by Frank Puomo of Wellsburg. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James P. Mazzone.
