Wal-Mart accused for not paying contractor for Mason store

MASON -- A construction company is suing Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. alleging it has yet to be paid for work done at its store in Mason.

Cherry River Construction, LLC filed a lawsuit on Oct. 29 in Mason Circuit Court against Wal-Mart, alleging it has not been paid for construction work and materials owed.

The construction company entered into an agreement to act as a sub-contractor at the location at 320 Mallard Lane. The company's owner alleges that upon completion of the project, Wal-Mart failed to pay him the  $19,549.20 owed.

Cherry River Construction is seeking payment in full, as well as costs and attorneys' fees, pre-judgment interest, and any further relief the court sees fit. The company is represented by Michael P. Markins and Jennifer A. Lynch of Mannion, Gray, Uhl & Hill Co., LPA of Charleston.
