Lawyer

WINFIELD – A Florida man is suing group of West Virginia trustee holders over clams they fraudulently sued him first.

Larry Wayne Robinson filed a lawsuit on Oct. 27 in Putnam Circuit Court against Leroy E. Hunter Jr., trustees of Ohio Bricklayers Health and Welfare Fund, trustees of the International Masonry Institute, and trustees of the Bricklayers and Trowel Trades International Pension Fund claiming they knowingly filed a false lawsuit against him and is seeking payment for injuries and injustices incurred.

Robinson claims the defendants knowingly filed a lawsuit against him on May 10, 2012, claiming Robinson was indebted to the defendants. He claims the defendants knowingly acted on false information, and that that action caused his good title to be slandered, as well as costed him annoyance, aggregation and monetary loss. The complaint states that this first lawsuit caused a lien to be placed on real estate parcels in Robinson's name. The case was vacated in December 2014 and resolved in Robinson's favor in June, the complaint states.

Robinson is seeking a judgment against the defendants in an amount not exceeding $75,000, as well as compensation for injuries sustained, interest, costs and attorney's fees, and any other relief the court sees fit. Robinson is represented by Harvey D. Peyton of the Peyton Law Firm in Nitro. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers.
