CHARLESTON – A man is suing his employer after her claims he was fired because of his request for workers' compensation.

Bryan L. Arnold filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Transnik LLC and FedEx Corporate Services Inc., citing workers' compensation discrimination, tortious interference with employment and outreagous conduct and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to the complaint, Arnold, an employee of Transnik Inc., was injured while working on Jan. 2, 2014. Following the incident, Arnold filed for workers' compensation, which was legal and reasonable as he was working at the time of his injury. Because of his filing for workers' compensation, the defendant discriminated against Arnold, terminating him from his position on Aug. 8, 2014, the complaint states.

Arnold is seeking compensation for all damages suffered, wages lost and legal fees incurred. He is represented by J. Michael Ranson and Cynthia M. Ranson of the Ranson Law Offices in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circut Judge James C. Stucky.
