Fayette Co. couple sues city of Oak Hill to resolve sewage issue allegations

Sewage

FAYETTEVILLE – A Fayette County couple is suing the city of Oak Hill for allegedly neglecting its responsibility as a public service district to provide water and sewage services to citizens.

Angela and Lonnie Riffe filed their claim in Fayette Circuit Court on Dec. 28 against the city of Oak Hill, citing negligence and breach of contract.

The Riffes claim they are experiencing raw sewage in, underneath, and around their home as a direct result of faulty equipment and/or maintenance services provided by the defendant. They claim this is a breach of obligation the city of Oak Hill has to provide adequate services, the complaint states.

The plaintiffs demand judgment in an amount justifiable by the evidence. They are represented by Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt and Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John W. Hatcher Jr.
