Ohio man sues Murray American Energy over on-site injuries, alleges negligence

Icefall

MOUNDSVILLE – An Ohio man claims he suffered severe injuries when he fell in an allegedly hazardous parking lot at a coal mining facility.

Randy Bohall filed a suit in Marshall Circuit Court on Dec. 16 against Murray American Energy Inc., citing irresponsible negligence of the premises that led to personal injury.

According to his complaint, Bohall was attempting to exit his vehicle and enter the coal mine on the defendant’s property when he violently slipped and fell on ice on Dec.16, 2013. The fall resulted in what Bohall claims to be irreparable injuries to his mind and body. The plaintiff charges Murray with theses injuries by failing to provide a safe work environment and neglecting to warn Bohall to the potential dangers of the parking lot.

Bohall demands compensatory damages plus interest and costs, attorney fees and any other justifiable relief. He is represented by Ronald W. Zavolta and Jordan M. Laird of the Zavolta Law Office in Wheeling. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jeffrey Cramer.
