PRINCETON – A Lashmeet woman is suing a grocery store claiming she was injured by the store's automatic doors.
Evelyn Nance filed a lawsuit Dec. 22 in Mercer Circuit Court against Kroger Limited Partnership, doing business as The Kroger Co., citing negligence.
Nance claims that on Oct.15, 2015, while attempting to enter the Stafford Drive Kroger, the automatic doors forcefully shut on her, injuring her lower back and ribs. Nance alleges management of the store was aware or should have been aware of the dangerous condition before her injury and are therefore guilty of negligence. The complaint states the injuries cost her $2,630.54 in medical expenses.
Nance is seeking compensation for her injuries, as well as prejudgment interest and the cost of this action. Nance is represented by Brandon L. Austin of Sanders, Austin, & Flanigan in Princeton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge William J. Sadler.
