MOUNDSVILLE – A former employee of Quality Bake Shoppe is suing the company after he allegedly fell on a set of stairs.

Chadwick A. Lancaster filed a lawsuit in Marshall Circuit Court against Quality Food Services Inc., doing business as Quality Bake Shoppe in Moundsville, alleging the defendants violated the West Virginia Code of State Rules and Moundsville Ordinances, and failed to pay into any form of Worker’s Compensation insurance.

Lancaster was an employee of the defendant's on June 29, 2015 when he fell at work, allegedly due to defects on the concrete stairs leading to the business. He also claims that the lighting and lack of railing made it difficult to assess the surroundings.

The suit alleges that the defendants negligently failed to maintain a proper safe work environment, and violated state laws and regulations. Because of the alleged negligence, the plaintiff claims to have suffered severe injuries, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of wages and loss of ability to function.

He is suing for all damages allowable under law, pre- and post-judgment, costs of the suit, attorney fees, and any other rewards deemed just by the court. He is represented by M. Eric Frankovitch from Frankovitch, Anetakis, Colantonio & Simon in Weirton.
