Woman claims group owes her money for late husband's property

HUNTINGTON — A Huntington woman claims her late husband's belongings were sold and she has yet to receive payment.

Sara Simmons filed a lawsuit in Cabell Circuit Court on Feb. 1 against The Young Group Inc. and Douglas Young individually, claiming breach of contract.

Simmons claims she entered into a purchase agreement with the group, specifically group president Douglas Young, regarding her late husband's Book of Student Accident Insurance Business. Simmons claims the group has received the book, but has yet to pay the remaining balance of $7,500.

Simmons is seeking compensation in an amount to adequately compensate her for her damages, plus interest, together with costs expended herein. Simmons is represented by Zachary J. Poole of Fredeking & Fredeking Law Offices in Huntington.
