Well, now it's time to say goodbye to Lear Jet Justice men,

And we would like to ask you not to come back here again.

You're not invited back to sue in this locality:

You've had your heapin' helpin' of our hospitality.

Apologizes to Paul Henning, creator of "The Beverly Hillbillies" TV show, for our revised rendition of its closing theme, but we couldn't think of a better way to salute the departure of certain out-of-town lawyers and let them know to not come back.

We can't say we were sad to see the backs of the Mississippi attorneys from the McHugh Fuller Law Group as they boarded the Lear jet that once belonged to the husband of Supreme Court Justice Robin Davis (or some other plane) and headed back home to Hattiesburg.

The firm was featured on ABC's World News Tonight and Nightline two years ago in a story headlined: “Lear Jet Justice in West Virginia? A ‘Circus Masquerading as a Court.’”

The story focused on a multimillion-dollar judgment against a West Virginia nursing home, awarded to McHugh Fuller and later upheld by our state Supreme Court, with a majority opinion written by Davis. Firm principal Michael Fuller had purchased a million-dollar jet from Davis' husband prior to his multimillion-dollar victory.

Having failed to recuse herself, Davis claimed ignorance of the million-dollar jet sale when it later came to light – and ignorance, as well, of the fact that Fuller and colleagues had contributed more than $35,000 to her 2012 reelection campaign.

Members of the firm recently jetted back to West Virginia for another round of jackpot justice at the expense of a local nursing home, but this time the Harrison County jury didn't go for it, finding Heartland of Clarksburg, HCR ManorCare, et al. not liable for the allegedly wrongful death of an 87-year-old resident.

To the invading attorneys who this time left empty-handed, we say, “Don't come back now, y'hear?”
