MOUNDSVILLE — A Marshall County woman is suing a Moundsville senior housing operator, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Waleah Nixon of Moundsville filed a complaint April 20 in Marshall Circuit Court against the Moundsville Housing Authority, alleging failure to comply with all applicable building and housing codes.

According to the complaint, on April 22, 2015, Nixon slipped and fell on a broken step at her apartment. Nixon says she sustained severe injuries to her head and right ankle, causing her to suffer, physical and mental pain, emotional distress and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the Moundsville Housing Authority failed to maintain the premises leased to Nixon in a clean and safe condition.

Nixon seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus interest and costs of court and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Jacob M. Robinson of Robinson Law Offices in Wheeling.
