Contract 08

NEW CUMBERLAND – A New Cumberland contractor is alleged to have falsely misrepresented that he was licensed and failed to complete work he was hired to do.

John R. Manypenny and Sharon K. Manypenny filed a complaint July 19 in Hancock Circuit Court against Chad Black, doing business as Redneck Rescue, alleging breach of contract, fraud and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs contracted the defendant in 2016 to do extensive interior work in their home. The plaintiffs allege the defendant falsely represented that he was licensed to work as a general contractor and that they paid him $20,474.69. They allege he failed to complete the work.

The plaintiffs holds Black responsible because the defendant purchased personal items at plaintiffs' expense and misrepresented the costs of materials.
