Hotel alleges WV All Black Schools, Sports & Academic Hall of Fame owes more than $50,000

NEW CUMBERLAND – A Charleston hotel alleges that a Weirton organization failed to pay it after hosting a banquet at its location.

Embassy Suites Inc., doing business as Charleston Embassy Suites, filed a complaint July 28 in Hancock Circuit Court against WV All Black Schools, Sports & Academic Hall of Fame LLC alleging failure to pay.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Sept. 15, 2016, and Sept. 18, 2016, it provided banquet services to defendant. The balance of $56,101.64 with interest and costs allegedly remains due and owing. The plaintiff holds WV All Black Schools, Sports & Academic Hall of Fame LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make payments for the amount owing in a timely manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in the sum of $56,101.64, with interest, costs expended for the action and all further relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Steven M. Recht of Recht Law Offices in Weirton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David J. Sims.
