Insurance 07

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman alleges that her insurer failed to pay her claim for damages to her vehicle after an accident.

Shannon Clay filed a complaint Sept. 19 in Kanawha Circuit Court against GEICO Advantage Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 11, she was involved in an automobile accident that caused significant property damage. She alleges she filed a claim with the defendant for sums necessary to repair or replace the vehicle.

The plaintiff holds GEICO Advantage Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay plaintiff's claim for damages in breach of the policy.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and any other just and proper relief. She is represented by Marvin W. Masters of The Masters Law Firm LC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
