KINGWOOD – A Bruceton Mills brewery alleges that beer manufacturing equipment it purchased from an Ohio company had defects.

Chicken Lips Farm LLC, which operates as Screech Owl Brewery, filed a complaint Oct. 5 in Preston Circuit Court against Systech Services LLC, Jason Spurrell and Amanda Spurrell citing revocation of acceptance and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the plaintiff purchased beer manufacturing equipment from defendants for the amount of $34,813.82. When delivered, it alleges it noticed non-conformities with the product.

The plaintiff holds Systech Services LLC, Jason Spurrell and Amanda Spurrell responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently sold a non-conforming product and failed to cure the defects in the said equipment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks revocation of acceptance and the return of $34,813.82 representing the amount tendered for the defective product, and all further relief as the court may deem just and proper. It is represented by Jeremy B. Cooper of Blackwater Law PLLC in Kingwood. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Lawrance S. Miller Jr.
