Cabell sheriff says Billy Bob's hasn't paid nearly $50K in property taxes

HUNTINGTON – Billy Bob’s Wonderland is being sued for failing to pay nearly $50,000 in property taxes to Cabell County.

R.E.X. Inc. is doing business as Billy Bob’s Wonderland.

Cabell County Sheriff Charles Zerkle claims Billy Bob’s has been assessed and is indebted for the payment of certain personal property taxes, according to a complaint filed Oct. 16 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Zerkle claims the unpaid taxes are now delinquent, according to the records maintained in his office.

Billy Bob’s has failed to pay the taxes assessed and the taxes due are a totally of $48,932.21, according to the suit.

Billy Bob’s has not paid person properly taxes for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016, according to court documents filed with the complaint.

Zerkle is seeking judgment in the amount of $48,932.21 with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by David R. Tyson of Tyson & Tyson.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Alfred E. Ferguson.
