HUNTINGTON – A Kenova man alleges his insurance company wrongfully denied his claim for disability benefits.

Harden C. Workman filed a complaint Nov. 14 in Cabell Circuit Court against Plateau Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in January 2015, he became permanently disabled while his credit life/disability insurance policy issued by defendant was in full force and effect. The suit states that he made a claim for disability benefits and that the defendant has failed to honor the claim.

The plaintiff holds Plateau Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly breached the terms of the contract by not promptly paying a legitimate claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks the enforcement of the insurance contract, award for all damages, fees, costs and interest. He is represented by Kenneth P. Hicks in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
