The Forensic Institute alleges The University of Charleston failed to honor agreement

Contract 02

CHARLESTON – The University of Charleston is alleged to have breached an agreement regarding a master's degree program.

The Forensic Institute LLC filed a complaint on Dec. 4, 2017, in the Kanawha Circuit Court against The University of Charleston Inc. alleging breach of contract and negligence misrepresentation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 1, 2016, the parties entered into an agreement for the purpose of continuing plaintiff's master of forensic accounting program for at least three years at the defendant's university. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to perform its obligations under the agreement and terminated it in October 2017.

The plaintiff holds The University of Charleston Inc. responsible because the plaintiff allegedly suffered loss of income and money because of the defendant's termination of the agreement.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, plus interest, costs and all further relief as the court deems proper. It is represented by Paul F. Biser of Fredeking & Biser Law Offices in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.
