Two lawsuits filed against Truckmovers.com for car accident

Car accident 12

CHARLESTON – Two lawsuits have been filed against Truckmovers.com after the plaintiffs claim they were injured in a car accident.

Paul H. Lawrence Jr., an employee of Truckmovers.com, was also named as a defendant in the suits.

On Nov. 30, 2015, Lawrence was operating a 2015 Freighliner Cascadia Truck Tractor owned by Truckmovers.com, according to two complaints filed Nov. 20 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

John J. Hall was a passenger in a 2012 Ford 350 XLT passenger van, which was operated by Larry D. Farley.

The plaintiffs claim their vehicle was lawfully traveling within Charleston when Lawrence negligently operated the Truckmovers.com vehicle at an unsafe speed, failed to keep a proper lookout on Interstate 77 and caused a head-on collision with their vehicle.

Lawrence owed a duty to the plaintiffs, as well as other motorists, to use reasonable care with regard to the operations of his vehicle, according to the suit.

Hall claims he incurred medical expenses in excess of $24,700 and Larry Farley incurred expenses in excess of $2,900.

Zella Farley claims she was deprived of the consortium companionship and services of her husband.

The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages. They are being represented Richard D. Dunbar of Dunbar & Fowler.

The cases were assigned to Circuit Judges Joanna Tabit and James C. Stucky.
