PRINCETON – A Mercer County physician alleges he was not reimbursed by Bluefield Regional Medical Center for staffing services he provided.

Stephen H. Blaydes MD filed a complaint in Mercer Circuit Court against Bluefield Hospital Co. LLC, doing business as Bluefield Regional Medical Center, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Aug. 1, 2015, and Dec. 19, 2016, he provided staffing in connection with the surgeries he would perform at defendant's Bluefield Surgical Center and defendant agreed to reimburse his costs for such services in the amount of $46,225.40.

The plaintiff holds Bluefield Hospital Co. LLC responsible because despite his requests for payments, defendant allegedly has failed to pay the costs he incurred in providing staffing at defendant's surgical center.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in the amount of $46,225.40, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief as the court deems proper. He is represented by C. William Davis of Richardson & Davis PLLC in Bluefield. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Mark Wills.
