Individuals seek damages after vehicle allegedly was totaled in state Route 250 collision

Car accident 14

MOUNDSVILLE – Two Cameron individuals are seeking damages after their vehicle was allegedly totaled in a collision.

Angel M. Jones and Charles E. Franklin filed a complaint in Marshall Circuit Court against Dana E. Rinehart, Welded Construction LP, Zurich American Insurance Co. and Copart of Connecticut Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 13, 2017, Jones was operating her 2012 Honda Accord on state Route 250 near Cameron when Rinehart, who was operating a pickup truck leased by defendant Welded, pulled out in front of her and caused a collision. The plaintiffs allege their Honda Accord was totally damaged.

The plaintiffs hold Rinehart, Welded Construction LP, Zurich American Insurance Co. and Copart of Connecticut Inc. responsible because defendant Rinehart failed to yield to the right of way. The plaintiffs also allege Zurich and/or Copart removed their vehicle from the salvage yard without permission.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendants in an amount to be determined by jury, plus attorney's fees and costs. They are represented by Christopher M. Turak of Gold, Khourey & Turak LC in Moundsville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David W. Hummel Jr.
