WHEELING – A Pennsylvania man is seeking damages after his vehicle was rear-ended on Interstate 70 in Wheeling by a tractor-trailer.
James P. Burlingame filed a complaint Jan. 22 in Ohio Circuit Court against Harjeet Singh and Kang Trucking Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 2, 2016, he was operating a 2014 Ram pickup truck traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 in Wheeling when defendant Singh, who was driving a tractor-trailer while under the scope of his employment with defendant Kang Trucking, struck the rear of his vehicle. The plaintiff alleges he sustained severe and disabling injuries resulting in medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering.
The plaintiff holds Singh and Kang Trucking Inc. responsible because defendant Singh allegedly failed to maintain control of the vehicle and Kang negligently allowed Singh to operate the tractor-trailer.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $75,000, plus interest, costs and any further relief as the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Michael G. Simon and Kevin M. Pearl of Frankovitch, Anetakis, Simon, Decapio & Pearl in Weirton.
