HUNTINGTON – A Mechanicsburg woman alleges that her late mother was subjected to infection and other issues while under the care of a nursing home.
Michelle Callanta, as personal representative of the estate of Linda G. Meade, filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Seventh Street Associates LLC, doing business as Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center, et al. alleging negligence, wrongful death and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that at various times during Meade's residency at the defendants' facility from Sept. 16, 2016, until her death on Jan. 3, 2017, she suffered pressure skin injuries, infection, severe sepsis and C. difficile colitis.
The plaintiff holds Seventh Street Associates, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide Meade with adequate supervision and monitoring.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages as allowed by law, attorney's fees, costs and any further relief as the court sees fit to award. She is represented by Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew L. Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of Stewart Bell PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Gregory L. Howard Jr.
