HUNTINGTON – A Kenova consumer alleges his privacy has been invaded by a debt collector.

Walter Mitchell filed a complaint March 2 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia against MiraMed Revenue Group LLC alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2017, he began receiving collection calls on his cellular phone from the defendant. He alleges he never provided his number or gave permission for the defendant to contact him.

The plaintiff holds MiraMed Revenue Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to call even after he demanded that it stop and it allegedly did not apprise him of the nature of the debt through a dunning letter.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory, treble and actual damages, attorney fees, costs and any further relief as the court deems just and appropriate. He is represented by Stephen G. Skinner of Skinner Law Firm in Charles Town.
