Widow files wrongful death suit against VEP Healthcare, physician

Medical malpractice 09

HUNTINGTON – A widow alleges her late husband's acute coronary syndrome was not diagnosed by a physician and has filed a wrongful death suit.

Mary Frye, individually and as administratrix of the estate of Craig Frye, filed a complaint March 5 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, Huntington Division against VEP Healthcare Inc. and Stacy Amanda Dick, FNP alleging negligence, medical malpractice and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, Craig Frye was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Medical Center Emergency Room in Huntington on March 17, 2017, for complaints of chest pain. The suit states he was treated by Dick, who was employed by VEP, and that Dick ignored signs of acute coronary syndrome and failed to order chest radiographs and other tests.

The suit states Craig Frye was discharged and that he died two days later.

The plaintiff holds VEP Healthcare Inc. and Dick responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to diagnose and properly treat her decedent's acute coronary syndrome.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages allowed under the Wrongful Death Act, economic damages, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Benjamin Conaway and Timothy R. Conaway of Conaway & Conaway PLLC in Madison.
