PRINCETON — A Bluefield man is suing an emergency transport company, alleging negligence led to his injuries.

Barry Vineyard filed a complaint Feb. 23 in Mercer Circuit Court against Bluefield West Virginia Rescue Squad Inc., alleging failure to properly train its employees on how to properly and safely transport its passengers.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 24, 2016, Vineyard was being transported by Bluefield West Virginia Rescue to his home in Bluefield. The suit says the defendant's employees, while carrying Vineyard, dropped him.

Vineyard says the fall led to serious and debilitating injuries to his left wrist, resulting in pain and suffering and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Bluefield West Virginia Rescue Squad employees failed to properly secure and support him during transport to avoid injury.

Vineyard seeks trial by jury and judgment in his favor. He is represented by attorney James J. Palmer III of The Palmer Law Firm in Bluefield.
