HUNTINGTON — A former tenant is suing Huntington rental property operators, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Sandra Lewis of Proctorville, Ohio, filed a complaint March 2 in Cabell Circuit Court against Buxton Consulting Inc. and Sam K. Seaton, alleging failure to comply with applicable building rules and regulations.

According to the complaint, on March 4, 2016, Lewis, a tenant at 918 10th Ave., Huntington, was exiting her apartment when she tripped and fell on the walkway due to the sinking of the bricks. Lewis says she sustained serious and severe injuries that resulted in great pain and anguish, medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants breached their duties to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to provide sufficient notice or warning of the dangerous condition.

Lewis seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Matthew R. Oliver and Jason A. Leasure of Vital & Vital LC in Huntington.
