Motorist alleges taxi service driver caused crash

Car accident 28

RIPLEY — A motorist is suing a transport service provider, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

George Hendricks filed a complaint March 21 in Jackson Circuit Court against Taxi Leasing Ltd., alleging the defendant failed to properly train its employees.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 22, 2017, Hendricks was traveling northbound on state Route. 2 when he was forced to swerve off the roadway to avoid colliding with Taxi Leasing's taxi, causing Hendricks to hit a guardrail. The suit says Hendricks sustained injuries to his neck, back, chest and stomach.

The plaintiff alleges Taxi Leasing's taxi driver negligently stopped on the traveled portion of the roadway, causing Hendricks' to leave the road.

Hendricks seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, plus interest and costs of this action. He is represented by attorney Larry O. Ford of Meyer, Ford & Glasser PLLC in Charleston.
