Customer, corporation accuse automobile dealer of negligence

BECKLEY — A Nicholas County man and a corporation are suing an automobile dealer, alleging negligence.

Lindsey Ray and TBI Investments Inc. filed a complaint April 3 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Mountaineer Automotive LLC, alleging the automobile dealer refused to provide information concerning the purchase of a motor vehicle on behalf of the plaintiffs.

According to the complaint, as a result of defendant's conduct, the plaintiffs became liable for the purchase of a 2015 Ford F-350 and was caused to suffer reduced ratings and loss of ability to obtain financing. The plaintiffs allege Mountaineer Automotive negligently allowed an unauthorized and unknown person to purchase a vehicle on behalf of Ray and TBI.

Ray and TBI Investments seek trial by jury, damages that will fairly compensate their injuries, plus interest, court costs and all further relief the court deems appropriate. They are represented by attorney James R. Milam II of Summersville.
