Charleston motorist alleges he was beaten after vehicle crash

Car accident 35

CHARLESTON — A Charleston motorist is suing employers and employees, alleging negligence in causing a vehicle crash.

Joseph A. Gibbons Jr. filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Carrillo Bonding, All World Bail Bonding, United States Surety, Dianne W. Carrillo, Michael P. Foust, Marion Reddick, Terrance Holloway, et al, alleging Carrillo Bonding, All World Bail Bonding and U.S. Surety negligently hired and failed to provide proper training to Foust, Reddick and Holloway.

According to the complaint, on March 24, 2016, Gibbons was operating a motor vehicle traveling eastbound on Ohio Avenue in Kanawha County. The suit says Foust caused the vehicle he was driving to collide into the rear of Gibbons' vehicle.

After the collision, the suit says, Foust, Reddick and Holloway unlawfully restrained and assaulted Gibbons, causing him to suffer injuries and damages.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants followed Gibbons' vehicle too closely, failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to keep the vehicle under proper control.

Gibbons seeks trial by jury, judgment against each defendant to recover damages and all further relief to which he is lawfully entitled. He is representing himself
