BECKLEY — A patient is suing Beckley Health Right, a physician and a nurse practitioner alleging negligence.
James Gregory filed a complaint April 20 in Raleigh Circuit Court alleging that the healthcare providers – Health Right, nurse practitioner Cheryl Winter and Dr. Albert Francois Olivier – negligently deviated from the appropriate standards of medical care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 22, 2016, he went to Beckley Health Right with complaints of pain and swelling in his left foot. Winter examined him and sent him for lab work, with instructions to follow-up in two days. The next day, Gregory went to the Raleigh General Hospital where he was seen by Olivier. In both cases, the suit claims the defendants failed to properly diagnose and treat an arterial occlusion in Gregory's left lower extremity. As a result, he allegedly suffered severe and permanent injuries including a below-the-knee amputation.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because he allegedly failed to properly diagnose and treat the plaintiff's ailment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, and seeks all damages along with taxable costs and expenses. He is represented by Ben Salango and Kristina Salango of Preston & Salango PLLC in Charleston.
