NEW CUMBERLAND — A Chester man is suing doctors and medical centers, alleging medical malpractice and professional liability.

Jackson Hill filed a complaint May 9 in Hancock Circuit Court against Dr. Krzysztof Kubicki., WMC Physician Practices Inc. Weirton Medical Center Inc, Dr. Joseph Matula, Prime Healthcare Foundation-East Liverpool LLC, doing business as East Liverpool City Hospital, and EmCare Physician Services Inc., alleging failure to provide competent medical care.

According to the complaint, between June 27-28, 2016, Hill consulted Matula and Kubicki respectively because of abdominal pain. The suit says neither doctor was able to diagnose that Hill was suffering from acute appendicitis.

Hill says he underwent surgery July 1, 2016, and was hospitalized due to the delay in diagnosing his appendicitis and appendix rupture. Additionally, Hill alleges he is currently suffering from a short gut syndrome.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to conduct an appropriate medical assessment and treatment.

Hill seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of compulsory arbitration limits. He is represented by attorney Peter D. Giglione of Massa Butler Giglione in Pittsburgh.
