WHEELING – A Wheeling woman alleges she was injured at a grocery store in the city because of a liquid left in an aisle.

Cheryl Wiley filed a complaint in Ohio Circuit Court against Kroger Limited Partnership alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 3, 2016, she slipped and fell on a liquid substance at the defendant's store.

The plaintiff holds Kroger Limited Partnership responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise their duty of reasonable care for the safety of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount in excess in the minimum jurisdictional limits as compensatory damages plus interest and costs and such further relief as the court or jury may find. She is represented by Ronald W. Zavolta and Jordan M. Laird of Zavolta Law Office in Wheeling.

The case has been assigned by Circuit Judge Ronald E. Wilson.
