According to the complaint, on May 8, 2017, Wise was driving a 2015 GMC Canyon pickup truck on the Interstate Highway 64 ramp near milepost 28 in Cabell County when its rear was violently struck by a 2009 Ford E450 passenger van owned by the Tri-State Transit Authority and negligently driven by Newsome.

Wise seeks trial by jury, damages to adequately compensate for injuries she suffered, pre-judgment interest, post-judgment interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Kenneth P. Hicks of Huntington.
